So with the help of Reign Over Me and religious watchings of Almost Famous (you know, "Listen to 'Tommy' with a candle lit and you will see your entire future"), I have a renewed, profound love for The Who.

Cassadaga is really good too. I love "hot knives" and "if the brakeman.."

Brand New is in 12 days. Holy Shit!

I think I got freaked out reading the beginning of Slaughterhouse Five for some reason and didnt finish it, but I know its good so rest in peace to Vonnegut(sp?).

Summer is in less than a month.

words can't describe how amazing this show was, they played 8 songs off Light Grenades, which was a lot but still cool. no songs electric off S.C.I.E.N.C.E., which wasn't great either, but i have no complaints. i can die happy.

so last night i saw saosin at the ICC. i have to say that it was most definitely top two or top three most amazing sets ive ever seen (brand new, straylight run). for anyone who would even think to maybe go see them, you missed out. cove was sick, and his vocal abilities weren't at the top of his game, but it didnt matter. they started off with "sleepers", the new demo which is a remake of "i want to hear another fast song". from there the show went on. both guitarits and the drummer are some of the most talented people in the business today (in my opinion), and standing very close to both beau the guitarist and with a good shot of the drummer, it was obvious that this was the most musically talented set id seen. they played seven years, bury your head, lost symphonies, and a couple of other songs, and on the last song ("they perch on their stilts...") the bassist, apparently against cove's will, told everyone they could come up on stage, and he fucking meant it! everyone in the crowd came up and sang with cove and watched beau and justin atop their amps, and circled around the drummer and watched him kick ass. there was never a better atmosphere then at that show. afterwards we got to meet everyone in the band cuz they were just cleaning up and everyone went outside to get fresh air so it wasnt like a mob was attacking them. we got autographs and told them how amazing the set was. unbelievable night.

so now after seeing cove AND anthony live, i figure that cove belongs in saosin. anthony belongs in circa survive. they did a good job working that out.

wow. amazing time with shows to end the summer...brand new, warped tour, circa survive, and saosin.

now all i have to do is see snakes on a plane and ill be all set.

So i watched that movie Elizabethtown last night, and i didnt like it at all. i felt like everyone who watches the movie will miss out on something that never happens, and it throws off the synch of the whole movie. and on top of that, the directors tried to make it a garden state-esque movie, but ended up making it too weird for its own good.

in other news, being out of school is awesome. i only have to go to my english ap class, and its cool because i enjoy it. i have 50 hours of community service to finish, which rocks. b.a.s.e. is a blast: if only you could make money watching kids eat sand and tell the teacher its a sunny day when its raining cats and dogs outside.

oh, and after much debating with myself, ive decided that looking back on my high school experience, the two bands i could always depend on were, and are, incubus and brand new. i could always call both bands my friends, and i could call upon incubus for inspiration, and brand new for making me feel that no matter what bad things happened, jesse had it worse. maybe.

this happened a while ago, and it got me thinking, and i dont know why im writing it here. but hey, why not.

so about a week ago i was waiting on this guy and this girl. they were very proper, polite, but you could see they were excited. the guy made my job easy, he put plates on the side of the table for me to grab, kept his drink order the same, etc. he and his wife/gf/lover/onlygodknowswho got shitfaced off two bottles of wine. so they finished (after what was like a 3 hour meal). so anyway, the weird thing occured when i gave him the bill, and he gave it back with like, a 40 dollar tip in it on like a 60 dollar bill. i opened it, and it wasnt the 100 dollar bill that caught my eye, rather the scribbled down "Live Long And Prosper! :)" sitting at the end of the bill. i didnt know the guy, i barely talked to him and his wife.

why did he write that?
